Brooklyn Smorgasburg is a food market heaven.

I recently re-visited the Smorgasburg in Willamsburg, Brooklyn. It's located across the river from New York. It's my second time visiting this food fair. Admission is FREE and numerous food vendors are selling food items at reasonable prices. Lowest price: $2 drinks-Highest price: $16 lobster rolls. I enjoy visiting this market because of all the different cultural foods that are available.

One major change from last year, the location has moved 10 metres next door to an even larger area by the water. I noticed more vendors this year compared to last year. It seems to be getting bigger every year. Keep in mind that an even larger open space is adjacent to the current location. I highly recommend you visit Williamsburg and many other food markets in the NYC area. The DUMBO and Seaport food markets are on my bucket list next time. Don't stick to the obvious tourist destinations and explore some of the more obscure locations the city has to offer. I'm not going to keep on talking here and rather show you the visuals of some of the food and vendors at the market.

Chicharon is pork rinds, popular in filipino culture.

Most of the food pricing was on average $5-$7. Highest was lobster roll at $16

This is Bolivian food. It's called Saltenas. It's pastry encased in juicy stew. Similar to empanadas. Served with cheese and hot sauces. $6.00 each.

I wanted to try this but did not get a chance because I had the Bolivian Rose Petal Lemonade Soda pictured below. That was a treat!

I love the simplicity and chicness of this Indian treat.

The last 4 photos are from Bon Anchovies-Bon Jovi play on words. I tried the deep fried anchovies with dipping sauce and enjoyed it. Not the biggest fan but it was good. I think the two seafood sandwiches would have been a better choice.

It was nice to see another Filipino booth " Lumpia Shack" representing. They specialize in "Lumpia" basically a spring roll. They had different variation made fresh on the spot. It was tasty and a different take on a traditional filipino food.

This is a Persian Fusion dish? Chips with Persian yogurt and Iranian Shallots with bacon. This was very savoury. $4 bucks

This was a unique and created the most attention. It's like sticky rice in a sugar cane. Creative presentation and tasty.

It's wings from Buffalo in NYC. Nothing better than traditional Anchor Bar style wings.

I thought the "People"s Pop" was the best simple but effective vendor on the sunny, humid day at the food fair.

I hope you enjoyed my quick and rough review of my recent visit to NYC Food Market.

The Sound of Touch with HP

This evening i'll be in New York city thanks to HP. I'll be attending an invite only event that will be held at Terminal 5 which is located by the Hudson River. I've had a great relationship with HP. If any of you remember I gave away an HP BeatsByDre laptop and an HP Eprinter previously so I'm excited to see the new HP and Windows8 line of PCs. Maybe i might have another giveaway, you never know.

Just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to checkout the HP TouchSmart and HP Envy X2.

I really liked the HP Envy X2 because it doubles as a tablet and notebook with it's detachable setup. When checking the new line of HP they had Windows8 on the machines and it had a very colourful and simple interface look. I'm looking forward to trying it out and exploring it more. The touch screen interface is really interesting especially for the desktop models. Look for a BIG launch of @Microsoft Windows8 everywhere soon!

I'm looking forward to an interactive PC experience tonight with Far East Movement -Hip hop superstars. I did not even know they had a song with Justin Bieber and over 18 million views. So follow me on Twitter for all the live updates and action tonight. You can follow the hashtag #HPwindows8 It should be a fun and creative night. :-)

New York City Never Sleeps - Wrong!!

I had the opportunity to visit New York City recently with friends. Here is a quick overview of our trip with @Canadian88 and @beachrockinc cheapdude.com Now I've been to NYC several times but this trip was unique because it was very unplanned and random. The way a trip with guys should be. While exploring the city, I had a smartphone and camera in hand to take photos of pretty much anything that caught my attention. I took a photo of 1 person who was sleeping. I took the pic because of the randomness and let's be honest it's funny at first!

After walking many streets of New York, I continued to take more photos and suddenly noticed a pattern that lots of people in NYC are sleeping. It was not my initial idea to take photos of people sleeping it just became apparent and random. So here is some photos from my observations. It is sad that most of the pics are people who are probably homeless. What began as just an observation became a reality we live. Hopefully this addresses and brings to life the real life issues people are experiencing in the USA and in other cities. I'm not a political guy but there is obviously something wrong with these pictures.

I'm not sure how this post will be received but I'll let you know that it started as a joke and became more of a reality check to me. Going on this trip made me learn not to take anything for granted and to appreciate what life gives to you. Tell me what you think. What's your reaction?
